From scattered Drive folders to a searchable, audited archive

The challenge
The Foundation's records lived in scattered, unsearchable Google Drive folders with no access trail — making documents slow to find, easy to misplace, and impossible to audit.
Our approach
Designed a clean, searchable archive with filtering by document type, date, and metadata.
Built it on Next.js with a zero-setup storage model — files on disk, metadata in a lightweight store — so it runs anywhere with no database server.
Added an audit trail so every upload and change is accountable.
Kept the interface simple enough for non-technical staff to adopt on day one.
The outcome
Foundation staff now find documents in seconds through a single searchable, audited archive — replacing fragile Drive folders with a system they fully own. [Add real adoption metrics once measured.]
