The challenge
The Kinniya Premier League needed to run its player auction live in front of a crowd — a big screen showing each player and bid in real time, controlled by an auctioneer, with zero lag and no awkward refreshes.
Our approach
Built a big-screen auction display and a separate auctioneer control panel as two coordinated apps.
Used Supabase realtime so every bid, sold player, and team update reflects instantly on the big screen.
Modeled teams in code and players in Postgres for fast, reliable auction state.
Designed a bold, broadcast-style interface with motion that reads from across a hall.
The outcome
KPL ran its draft as a live, broadcast-quality event — the auctioneer drove bidding from the control panel while the big screen updated in real time for the crowd. [Add real auction-night metrics once held.]
